We planned to enjoy some Viking culture today but ended up at the event our friendly local librarian told us about, when we borrowed our first books from Viborg bibliotekerne, yesterday. Lars and Solveig kindly took us to this event at Hald Manor, a ‘literary retreat’ for writers and salubrious place to start a stroll around the wooded lake. The atmosphere was very relaxing as writers read from their works and families picnicked.
The kids had fun fishing words out of the pool with nets – a literary and kinaesthetic activity 😉 before Sarah fell in. Luckily enough Lars had spare clothes. I am not sure what it is about such activities with Sarah (remember?) but clearly her parents do not supervise her closely enough.***
It just so happened that our librarian was one of the stars of the day, playing ‘Findus’, a character from a much-loved children’s series.
*** When we arrived home Sarah said, “I guess no electricity for me (our standard consequence) for falling into the pool”? We concurred! 😉
